Farewell The Smiling General

Yesterday, January 27, 2008, the former president of Republic of Indonesia, H. Muhammad Soeharto passed away after few weeks of treatment in Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina. He died at 1.10pm local time. I myself have been hoping that Mr. Soeharto could died in a good and peaceful manner, because man at his age is actually could be said already given a great bonus from God Almighty. So much suffering would be upon him if he didn’t die. I may say so because actually, He is no longer live in a normal sense. Various medical surgery have been done to support his life, including respiratory supporting device which later perhaps contributing to his death. In His last days, it was reported that the respiratory supporting device has caused some infection to his lungs.

No more discussion I guess, only one thing. I once had a great experience with this Smiling General. I had an occasion to be face to face with Him, shook his hand when I was still in Junior High. What a great and unforgettable memory and experience I have (see the picture below).

Ok, stop talking, let’s pray that even considering so many people that mocked him, may God the Forgiver, could provide a better place for Him in the After Life.

In fact, I have no original digital file of this photo, perhaps I would deliberately take it later when I visit my hometown (the picture is in my father’s house)
