Is it a War?

Advertising sector has always been the best way of announcing and promoting a company’s product. The companies will seek every best effort to make their product earns publicity, even if they have to compete in a funny way. I recently found in one of the forum’s threads which discussed about the advertisement of the large telecommunication company in Indonesia: Telkomsel and Exelcomindo.
The posters were located in Medan, one of the big cities in Indonesia (I still have not checked yet with other cities). In my opinion as a consumer, this advertisement is a little bit funny in the perspective of their diction (wording). The story went this way: At first, Telkomsel was the one who put the poster containing the slogan showing the IDR 0.5 / second tariff, then Exelcomindo (known by XL as its brand) put a poster right beside the Telkomsel’s poster showing the IDR 0.1 / second tariff. I don’t know what happened, soon after that, Telkomsel put another poster which is a countermeasure of the XL’s poster showing a slogan which is freely translated into this sentence “The next neighbor said to have the lowest tariff, but in fact they have complex tariff system and limited network!”.
